Kapre (Giant)

"Kapre" done in acrylics on 18"x24" canvas. The work is based on a popular Filipino mythology of a giant creature that dwells on branches of large Acacia trees. They are described as dark-skinned and always smoke a giant cigar. They have piercing eyes and usually associated with bad luck or even death.
